WHOLE FOODS MARKET COLUMBUS CIRCLE

Whole Foods Market Columbus Circle is the highest selling store in the company - holding an average foot traffic of 11,000 people per day. When I first came to this location, I noticed there was a large amount of signage, fonts and images throughout the space, but no directional signage. This surprised me because the floor plan of the store was not the easiest to navigate. I also noticed customers asking employees where certain departments were, not products but whole departments. I decided to put navigation signage at the front of my to do list and came up with a simple, clean directional sign package. This included:
• Store Maps
• Directional signage
• Line divider signage for the registers
• Store refresh (removing anything with older fonts and colors and replacing them with updated designs)
• The Flyer Item program
Each department was color coded and contained signs with the according color. The same year I made these changes, the Columbus Circle store hit a new sales record, going above the previous record by over $200,000.00!
